Abbotsford House, home of Sir Walter Scott | Aerial Drone Filming | Borders, Scotland
I was out filming at Abbotsford House, the home of Sir Walter Scott, recently in relation to an online course about the Jacobites I was filming in conjunction with the University of Edinburgh and National Museums Scotland.
Abbotsford is a truly riveting place and Sir Walter Scott comes across as a man with a vivacious character with his large, and often romantic, collections. Some items include a locket of Bonnie Prince Charlie's hair, Napeleon Bonaparte's blotter and even a piece of oatcake from the battle of Culloden!
The shoot was loads of fun to do, and the staff there allowed access for a wide range of material, including lots of filming as well as aerial drone filming.
Thanks to Kirsty Archer-Thompson at Abbotsford for help with permissions as well as a large thank you to Professor Viccy Coltman who organised the whole shoot and provided the bedrock of material for the interviews.
I edited some of the aerial footage, which can be viewed underneath.
